Kiera: Afternoon Roland

Louis: Ah Afternoon Bonnie. How are you

Kiera: Yeah I'm good thank you. I've just come in for my usual packet of cigarettes. I'm treating myself after a long day

Louis: Cigarettes. You know young girls like you shouldn't be smoking and cigarettes shouldn't be a treat- you should have something else as a treat.

Kiera: Well if you're offering I'll have a lollypop as well then please

Louis: Will you now

Kiera: Make sure it's the pineapple one; my favourite.

Kiera: Have you been busy then today

Louis: Oh it's always busy in my shop, so many customers and new faces coming in and out-

Kiera: Is Leighton working today?

Louis: Yes Leighton's working, he's a very good worker is Leighton. He's just round the back. We had a delivery this morning so I told Leighton to erm get the erm stock all stacked on the shelves.

Kiera: So what's Leighton like then, tell me a bit more. He seems really quiet and different

Louis: Well he is a quiet worker, I try and talk to him but he remains quite reserved

Kiera: When did he move here

Louis: Ooh I can't remember now- especially not with my memory, but I remember him saying it was about a certain situation.

(Bonnie turns away to put her lipstick on then turns back around to model for Roland)

Louis: Ooh you look just like your mother

Kiera: Really!?!

Louis: Oh yes, I remember your mother very fondly.

Kiera: It's a shame because I never knew what she was like, I don't even remember her. Will you tell me more about her because no one ever seems to talk about her- I mean obviously my father never does

Louis: Oh well your mother was just like you; she was the spitting image of you and she was always running around the shop telling me how she's going to be a famous actress one day.

Kiera: Do you know where she went then? I heard she ran off with this wealthy man to Birmingham. But she's never ever got in touch with me so I don't think she remembers me or cares about me.

Louis: Oh I know for a fact that she does care about you Bonnie, and I wish I could help you but with my memory I can't really remember where she went. How longs it been now since she left?

Kiera: Well she left when I was 3, left me to grow up with my dickhead of a dad.

Louis: Bonnie. You know I don't like that type of language.

Kiera: But you know what he's like, I don't know why you stick up for him. He's horrible! He comes in here, pissed all the time and gives you all these insults and yet you always stick up for him.

Louis: Well I was always taught to always see the good in people. Although, come to think of it, now I remember, your mother did leave me this to give you once you were old enough-

(Leighton enters and Bonnie's attention switches to Leighton)

Kiera: Hiya Leighton!

Tyler: Erm, hi Bonnie.

Kiera: How are you today?

Tyler: Erm good thanks Bonnie. How are you?

Kiera: I'm good. I was just wondering-

Louis: Ooh Leighton, have you got everything stacked from the delivery this morning?

Tyler: Yeah I've just sorted it now for you.

Kiera: Anyway. I'll be off then. I'll see you all at the same time tomorrow. Bye Leighton.

Tyler: Bye Bonnie.

Louis: Another day done then Leighton

Tyler: Yeah. I swear I was out there stocking for ages.
Louis: Well time flies when you're having fun and working hard. Whilst I lock up, will you price the new up boxes of Kelloggs. Ooh do you mind if I put the radio on.

Tyler: No, not at all.
Louis: Ooh this ruddy thing. How’d you work these machines?

Tyler: Here Roland, you just press this.
Louis: Ah the cricket’s on! Do you like cricket Leighton?

Tyler: Err, yeah it’s alright.
Louis: Alright?! It’s more than alright! Oh, you must be more of a football fan then. Go on, whose your favourite footballer?

Tyler: Errr (Long pause) what’s his name…that one that-
Louis: Come on you must be able to think of someone

Tyler: What was that! Was that Maisy?!
(Leighton runs over to the corner in the shop to look for an imaginary cat. Nothing is there so he walks back)
Louis: What were we talking about before Maisy came into the shop?

Tyler: It’s completely slipped my mind, I can’t remember now.
Louis: You’re getting like me Leighton, my grandfather always used to say; the older you get, the more you forget. So what’re you doing this weekend then?

Tyler: I’m just going to go for some food with Bonnie.
Louis: Oh, Bonnie eh?

Tyler: Aha, it’s not like that Roland.
Louis: Oh no, you can’t fool old Roland- you must think I was born yesterday. So where are you taking her?

Tyler: Err, just to the small café round the corner.
Louis: Are you paying?

Tyler: Erm is that what you're supposed to do?
Louis: Oh come on Leighton, I bet you've been on plenty of dates with girls before, you know how to be a gentleman. Right well Leighton, it looks like your shift is done now so I hope you have fun on your date and I'll be asking about it on Monday.

Tyler: I'll tell you everything don't worry. Bye Roland.

(As Leighton leaves the shop Charlie enters the shop hoping to buy a last minute bottle of Whiskey)

Jake: Erm, can I come in?

Louis: Well, we have just closed. But if you're only wanting something small then I suppose you can come in.

Jake: I'd just like a bottle of whiskey please.

Louis: Has it been a long day?

Jake: Oh you're telling me. It's always a long day at the Steelworks.

Louis: Oh right. And how's it going there?

Jake: Yeah it's okay, it brings in money so I suppose it's good.
